Mrs. P's Nail Potions - Spring Fling with OPI DS Reserve accent

So I was going through all my photos and I came across a not-so-recent mani I did back in March or April which I hadn't posted yet.  OOPS!  So here it is!  It is kind of springy, hence why I did it in March/April, but it's still pretty and I'd still like to share it with all of you :)

So for this mani I used Mrs. P's Nail Potions Spring Fling with an accent ring finger of OPI DS Reserve.

Spring Fling is a sheer, shimmery pale green base with matte pastel hex glitters.  Depending on the thickness of the coats you apply it can be opaque in two to three coats.  It can also be used as a layering polish in one coat over almost any colour.  When used as a layering polish over colours other than green, it gives a neat sort of duochrome look as it is so sheer that the other colour comes through pretty much perfectly but it gives it a nice shimmery light green shift at certain angles.

Not much needs to be said about OPI DS Reserve.  It is part of the OPI Designer Series collection and is a medium pink loaded with a scattered holo.

See how pretty?!?!

I used this as an accent nail.  I love the combo of green and pink and I thought this pink with the scattered holo nicely picked up the pink of the hex glitters in Spring Fling.  This was almost a one coater but I did two to make sure I got a generous helping of all the holo goodness!

Everything was topped off with one coat of Seche Vite dry fast top coat.  All photos were taken indoors near a window in direct sunlight.

Spring Fling can be found in my etsy shop here and retails for $8.00 CAD per bottle.

As always with my lacquers, if you purchase any five full-sized bottles you can receive $5.00 off with code "BUY5GET5" and $10.00 off of ten bottles with code "BUY10GET10".

As for the OPI DS polishes, it is tough to find them sometimes.  Reserve is not one of the original or older DS polishes so I was able to find my bottle easily through Nail Polish Canada for $16.00 CAD.

Summer has arrived and so have Mrs. P's Summer Lacquers!

Today I've got a nice close look at my summer lacquers: "Your Pool or Mine?" And "Summer Nights".

Both of these were introduced in my very first summer collection last year and they were the most popular of the five I released, as well as my personal favourites :). I decided to re-release these two lacquers for this summer and they have been available as of June 1, 2013. However, they will only be available until August 31, 2013, at which point they will not be seen again until next summer.

First up is "Your Pool or Mine?"

This is a vibrant blue jelly base loaded with iridescent flakies. Depending on the thickness of your coats it will become opaque in two to three coats. You could also use this as a layering polish in one coat over another blue.

Next up is "Summer Nights".

This is super sparkly and photos do not do this justice. It is a sheer, deep, vibrant, shimmery purple base loaded with all sorts of reflective glitter. There is iridescent fine and medium hex glitters and fine holo purple and blue glitters. Again, depending on the thickness of your coats, this will become opaque in two to three coats. This can also be used as a layering polish in one coat over another purple.

Here are more views of my summer lacquer mani, I just alternated the two lacquers on all my nails.

All photos were taken indoors near a window in direct sunlight.

"Your Pool or Mine" and "Summer Nights" both retail for $8.00 CAD each and don't forget they are only available until August 31, 2013. Both summer lacquers can be purchased from my etsy shop at https://www.etsy.com/shop/MrsPsNailPotions?ref=si_shop

And as always, if you purchase any five full-sized bottles of Mrs. P's Nail Potions you can receive $5.00 off with code "BUY5GET5" and $10.00 off for ten bottles with code "BUY10GET10".

Made it into the newspaper!

Ok so this post is fairly after the fact but its still applicable lol.

So on Friday, May 31st the Edmonton Journal ran an article on me and my nail polishes!! I think I'm actually still shocked to this day but I am very pleased with how the article was done and it has certainly skyrocketed my local interest and popularity. Much more than any trade show ever has to this point! I'm so grateful for this article and the exposure it has given me and it has fast tracked the public interest and word of mouth that my business would have otherwise gained without the article. It is amazing how much this article has helped me out and I'm so excited to build on this high and keep it going higher and higher!

So there was a little mention on the front cover of the style section:

And then as soon as you opened the section there was a FULL PAGE SPREAD about me and my nail polishes *blush*
