Halloween Mani 2015

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Good evening.  Hope everyone is well and ready for halloween tomorrow :)

I've had a bit of a rough week this week (youngest son coming down with Croup! NOT FUN) so not much time for anything nail related.  My week has consisted of nothing but taking care of him and keeping a close eye on him.  I think he is finally starting to improve though so I took some time throughout the day to work on my halloween mani.  It was literally paining me thinking I may not be able to get any halloween nails done this year.  But everything aligned today and I'm here to share them with you quickly tonight.  I love how they turned out!

Eat.Sleep.Polish - Purple Rain

Today I have an amazing indie polish to share with you!  It is from Eat.Sleep.Polish and it is my first from this brand.  I have had dealings with the owner Cat before as we are in a Canadian indie polish makers group, but I had never tried her creations until now.  This won't be my last bottle of ESP! In fact, I loved this one so much that when her new The Wonderful Wizard of Oz collection released on Saturday (September 12th) I snapped up two of them plus an amazing blue that caught my eye from the Alice In Polishland - Part 2 collection.

This polish I'm sharing today was created as a group custom for the Facebook group Indie Polish Lovers United.  It is called Purple Rain.

Stained Glass Valentine's Day Nails with Mrs. P's Potions and OPI Sheer Tints

Hello all!  Hope your February has been lovely so far and you all had a great Valentine's Day, however it was spent.  Mine was rather quiet as my husband and I just had a nice home cooked dinner and watched movies together after the kids went to bed.  I also did my nails, which took up the entire afternoon! LOL.  Here's what I did do for Valentine's Day nails...my first ever attempt at stained glass nails!

Adventures In Stamping Sunday Challenge - Pink and Black

Good evening all!  Today I have for you another Adventures in Stamping Sunday Challenge.  This week's challenge was pink & black.  This was perfect cuz I had been actually wanting to do a pink and black mani and needed to test out a couple new products I had developed!  Everything I used is depicted in the photo above (please excuse the mess LOL).

Color Club Blue Heaven Floral Stamping

Can you believe this?!  Back to back blog posts!!!!!  WHOOT *happy dance* LOL!  Anyway, today I have for you another stamping nail art look I did which was again prompted by the Facebook Group Adventures in Stamping's Sunday Challenge.  This last challenge was over a blue base.  I just so happened to be testing and swatching a new lacquer I'll be coming out with soon that was blue so I just stamped over top of that :)

Winter Watermarble

Hi everyone!  So today I have a wintery water marble nail art look that I did awhile ago.  It's still winter here in Edmonton, AB, Canada so no biggie posting it at this time of year LOL.  Although, believe it or not, we've got more spring-like weather right now than we do winter.  Mother Nature just can't get her crap straightened out around here LOL.  But I'm not complaining, I for one pretty much dislike winter so the less winter weather the better I say!  My only concern is that we'll probably pay for it later on and pay for it HUGE...

Anyway, I did this nail art back in December, just before Christmas.  I had been trying out water marbling and not really having any great luck.  I love the look but was finding it so troublesome to actually have a successful mani done with the technique.  It clearly requires a lot of practice.  This was my first water marble that I was actually happy with the results of and really quite loved.  Still had some things to improve on and I did have to redo a nail or two to get the final look but all in all I'd say I persevered and came out on top!

Mrs. P's Potions - Pink Baroque Stamping

Good evening everyone!  Happy Friday!!!  Hope everyone has had a great day so far.  Mine was pretty great.  Nothing spectacular or glamorous but I spent pretty much the whole day catching up with one of my besties from my 20's.  It was her birthday today and I messaged her on Facebook to wish her a happy birthday and we then spent pretty much the rest of the day chatting over text and catching up with EVERYTHING!  It was epic and amazing and I miss her so much.  I haven't seen her since she moved away over ten years ago I think and we've somewhat kept touch over Facebook every now and then but not really really kept in touch.  Well it all fell into place today and it was almost like she was right back here again.  We were like sisters back in the day!  It felt so good and it made my day feel so great!  She's off to go and get her birthday drink on now so I'm free to get back to work LOL.

Nail Vinyls Review and Chevron Nail Art

Today I have something fun on the blog. I've used these a few times now but have never done a blog post on them. I'm talking about the ever popular Nail Vinyls!!!

Admittedly I've only purchased once, although I've wanted to purchase many times, but I've used them several times and loved them every time! I ordered the chevrons and lightning bolts but have yet to use the lightning bolts. I've done at least three different manis with my chevrons though.

I originally found Nail Vinyls through their Instagram account.  I kept seeing all these amazing manis all over Instagram using the product and creating awesome looks that I would otherwise do with scotch tape, which would always end up being time consuming and frustrating. So I figured I had to give them a whirl and I'm so glad I did. It's such a simple and quick way to do really awesome nail art. Anyone can use them, novice, amateur, pro, DOESN'T MATTER!

Girly Bits Cosmetics - What happens in Vegas...ends up on Instagram #234

Good evening from bitterly cold Edmonton, AB, Canada LOL.  I hope everyone has had a good start to their weekend.  Mine has been quiet and relaxing for the most part, we are staying inside where it is warm!  We've managed to drop to around -30 C for the weekend :( you'd never guess that a mere couple days ago the snow was melting, you could see the pavement again, and it was above zero.  Go figure!

Today I bring you photos and a review of the Limited Edition Girly Bits Cosmetics - What happens in Vegas...ends up on Instagram.  This was a LE lacquer that Girly Bits released after returning from their annual appearance at the Cosmoprof convention in Las Vegas in the summer of 2014.  It was created exclusively for a blogger/brand/stockist event co-hosted by Girly Bits and KBShimmer.  This is the second lacquer in the exclusive Las Vegas series, the first of which was What happens in Vegas...ends up on Facebook.  I missed out on that first lacquer but I made sure not to make the same mistake with this one.  I COULD NOT resist it from the moment I saw the very first swatches of it.  You'll see why very shortly :)  I got bottle #234.

NOTE: I did these swatches last September, just before I changed my nail shape from square to almond/stiletto.
